چکیده

Given a Hamiltonian system on a fiber bundle, the Poisson covariant formulation of the Hamilton equations is described. When the fiber bundle is aG-principal bundle and the Hamiltonian density is G-invariant, the reduction of this formulation is studied thus obtaining the analog of the Lie-Poisson reduction for field theories. The relation of this reduction with the Lagrangian reduction and the Lagrangian and Poisson reduction for electromagnetism are also analyzed. © 2003 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.

Geometric Mechanics, Lagrangian Reduction, and Nonholonomic Systems

This paper surveys selected recent progress in geometric mechanics, focussing on Lagrangian reduction and gives some new applications to nonholonomic systems, that is, mechanical systems with constraints typified by rolling without slipping. Reduction theory for mechanical systems with symmetry has its roots in the classical works in mechanics of Euler, Jacobi, Lagrange, Hamilton, Routh, Poinca...

Integrable Discretizations of Some Cases of the Rigid Body Dynamics

A heavy top with a fixed point and a rigid body in an ideal fluid are important examples of Hamiltonian systems on a dual to the semidirect product Lie algebra e(n) = so(n)⋉Rn. We give a Lagrangian derivation of the corresponding equations of motion, and introduce discrete time analogs of two integrable cases of these systems: the Lagrange top and the Clebsch case, respectively. The constructio...

Non ( anti ) commutative N = 2 Supersymmetric U ( N ) Gauge Theory and Deformed Instanton Equations

We study deformed supersymmetry in N = 2 supersymmetric U(N) gauge theory in non(anti)commutative N = 1 superspace. Using the component formalism, we construct deformed N = (1, 1/2) supersymmetry explicitly. Based on the deformed supersymmetry, we discuss the C-dependence of the correlators. We also study the C-deformation of the instanton equation for the gauge group U(2). Supersymmetric field...

Zero Locus Reduction of the Brst Differential

I point out an unexpected relation between the BV (Batalin–Vilkovisky) and the BFV (Batalin–Fradkin–Vilkovisky) formulations of the same pure gauge (topological) theory. The non-minimal sector in the BV formulation of the topological theory allows one to construct the Poisson bracket and the BRST charge on some Lagrangian submanifold of the BV configuration space; this Lagrangian submanifold ca...

Euler-Poincaré reduction for discrete field theories

In this note, we develop a theory of Euler-Poincaré reduction for discrete Lagrangian field theories. We introduce the concept of Euler-Poincaré equations for discrete field theories, as well as a natural extension of the Moser-Veselov scheme, and show that both are equivalent. The resulting discrete field equations are interpreted in terms of discrete differential geometry. An application to t...
